A comprehensive study of zuowang, a key form of Daoist practice, based on Seven Steps to the Tao (1987).

The book divides into two parts. The discussion presents the practice in many different aspects: its history in China, its modern application, as well as in comparative perspective. The translation part contains about one hundred pages, adding several new texts to the earlier work.
